Arizona Sees Big Decline in DUI Cases Over July 4th Weekend

The COVID epidemic has taken drivers off the road for the 4th of July, leading to less traffic stops and DUI arrests. As Arizona has become a hot spot of the COVID-19 epidemic, it was expected to a much smaller number of drivers on the roads for the 4th of July. The holiday weekend saw a 2/3 total decrease when compared to last year’s 15,174 traffic stops. With a decrease in the number of traffic stops, it was also expected to  see a drop in DUI arrests, which was only 512 cases this year!
