Pima County Jail Visitation Guidelines
An individual suspected of committing a crime, whether misdemeanor or felony, can be detained in jail while they await court proceedings and sentencing. In other cases, people convicted of misdemeanor crimes may serve their sentence in a jail if their length of incarceration was ordered to be a year or less.
Pima County’s two jails are located in Tucson and Ajo, Arizona.
Can I Visit an Inmate In-Person at the Jail?
No. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) does not allow in-person visitation with inmates. Visitation is only conducted through video visits, which may be conducted onsite or remotely.
What Do I Need for a Video Visit?
Anyone wishing to participate in a video visit with an inmate is able to do so on a smartphone, computer, or tablet from wherever they would like.
Visitors simply need to create a GettingOut account in order to connect to the jail’s visitation system.
Visitors must follow a dress code or will have their visit rescheduled or terminated:

- Low cut neckline, sheer, strapless/backless blouses
- Spaghetti straps
- Tank or tube tops
- Sleeveless shirts (male & females)
- Shorts, dresses, skirts shorter than mid-thigh
- Overly tight, torn, or cut clothing
- Hats, bandannas, caps, stocking caps
- Gang or graphically explicit signs or emblems, designs, pictures or sayings
- Clothing that exposes or overly accentuates the body
Online remote visitation restrictions:

- No acts that encourage sexual behavior.
- No nudity or disrobing during the visit. Visitors must be fully dressed.
- No acts or behavior that are criminal under state, local, or federal statute.
- No gang signs or acts that encourage or promote gang activity.
- Any other irrational behavior that is deemed as inappropriate or perceived as a threat to the safety and security of the facility.
What Does my Incarcerated Loved One Need for a Video Visit?
Inmates in Pima County jails are able to use GTL Tablets to initiate video visits as they would life.
How Can I Schedule a Video Visit?
Visitors must schedule an on-site video visit 1 to 7 days in advance, in a first-come first-serve process. Walk-ins are not accepted. On-site visitors should report to the Main Jail Front Desk at 1270 W. Silverlake Road in Tucson 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled visit with photo ID.
To schedule a visit, use the kiosk machine at the front desk, or visit the scheduling website.
Visitation is not available on federal holidays. Adult inmates can otherwise be visited from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday pr 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. Juvenile inmates’ weekday visitation times do not begin until 3:30 p.m.

Telephone voice messages are allowed. Inmates must have a GTL AdvancePay prepaid account with sufficient funds.
