How to Look Up a Court Case in Arizona

The state of Arizona makes information regarding many court cases public record that can be easily found online. If you have found yourself charged with a criminal offense, or served with a lawsuit or a family law case proceeding, you will likely be able to access your basic case information online.

Arizona Public Access

The best place to start for most everyone is a search on the Arizona Judicial Branch’s “Public Access to Court Information” website. Here, you will be able to search for case information by the name of a party in the case. The website also allows you to further filter the results based on court and a party’s date of birth. Additionally, case information can be searched by case number, for those who would like to see the names of the parties involved in a known case.

However, the Public Access website is not all-encompassing. The following cases will not appear in search results:

  • Sealed cases.
  • Order of Protection cases.
  • Mental health cases.
  • Victim and witness data.
  • Juvenile cases.

If you are searching for information regarding a case that you feel should be found in public record (i.e. those that are not listed abover) you can try searching directly through court websites. In some cases, searching for a court case through the court website directly can actually offer additional details about the case, such as judge information and upcoming court dates.

It should be noted that not all municipal or justice courts provide case information through their website.

Searching for Cases Through Court Websites

The following courts are some that provide case lookup through their websites, separate from general Public Access:

Maricopa County Supreme Court – Offers civil, criminal, family, and probate court cases.

Justice Courts of Maricopa County – For case searches through any Maricopa County justice court.

Chandler Municipal Court case lookup.

Scottsdale City Court case lookup.

Mesa Municipal Court case lookup.

Gilbert Municipal Court case lookup.

Tempe Municipal Court case lookup.

Pima County Justice Courts – For cases within the justice courts of Pima County.

Pima County Superior Court case lookup.
