Making Child Support Payments through Clearinghouse

Child support payments go through clearinghouse.

Making Child Support Payments through Clearinghouse

In Arizona, unless it has been court-ordered that child support be paid directly to the party entitled to receive it, all child support payments must be made through the central support payment clearinghouse, run by the Arizona Department of Economic Security.

The ADES allows for individuals to make child support payments in person, online, over the phone, via mobile app, and by mail with a personal check, money order, or cashier’s check. Information regarding all methods of payment can be found here.

Recipients of child support payments may sign up for direct deposit into a personal checking or savings account or may have the funds transferred to an Arizona Way2Go debit card. ADES provides further information here.

All child support cases are given an Arizona Tracking and Location Automated System (ATLAS) number, which is used to track payment history and can be referenced to anyone who needs to contact ADES regarding their payment or disbursement.

By running child support payments through this clearinghouse system, payments are ensured to be received, processed, recorded, and distributed according to court order.
