Arizona’s Potential Marijuana Legalization Stirs Up Mixed Feelings

Arizona Proposition 207 to legalize marijuana is now on the ballots, making AZ a new battleground for marijuana legalization. Arizona is taking the national spotlight in the fight for marijuana legalization for this upcoming 2020 election. Prop 207, if passed, would legalize recreational marijuana in the state of Arizona. According to one poll last month, 62% of Arizonans support the legalization of recreational marijuana. Opponents to the passage of Prop 207 point to statistics that include an increase in driving fatalities after the adoption of similar legislation in other states, however, their opponents believe these statistics to be misinterpreted. This November, the election will prove to be instrumental for change in the state of Arizona and the United States, regardless of the results.
