Prescott Homeowners’ Association Forces Orphaned Teen Out of Grandparents’ Home

A recently orphaned 15 year-old teenager in Prescott is being forced out of his grandparents’ home by their HOA because of age restrictions. In Prescott, AZ, a teen who lost his parents a year ago has been staying with his grandparents ever since.

Their home is in a community that has a 19+ age requirement, of which the 15 year old does not comply with. The Homeowners’ Association for the community has finally forced the teen out of the home by a deadline set in June. The HOA could make a legal exception for him to live there, but they claim to be open to legal risks if they do let him stay. So far, it appears neither side is budging and the fight has come to a legal standstill.

The grandparents have stated that they would rather sell the house than have to kick their grandson out. Hopefully, this teen gets to stay in the home.
