Arizona College Student’s Case Brings Up Legality of Drug Testing on Campus

An Arizona College Student with a Medical Marijuana Card Gets Expelled, Creating a Legal Battle for College Campus Drug Policy. A student at Gateway Community College who is a legal Arizona medical marijuana card holder was recently expelled for failing a surprise drug test. The medical specialty program she is a part of requires all members to be subject to these tests. Due to the acceptance of federal funds to the school, it must have campus policy that follows federal drug policy, not the state’s. Even if you are operating legally under state law, you are still able to get punished on campus.  If you get caught in a similar situation please visit any of our Rideout Law Group locations in Las Vegas, NV, Bullhead City, Tempe, and Lake Havasu City, AZ.
